Why Locals Love Ristorante Gorgonia
Nestled along the picturesque Via Marina di Corricella in Procida, Ristorante Gorgonia is a captivating seafood and Italian restaurant that feels like a cherished secret among locals and travelers alike. This charming eatery effortlessly combines the freshness of the sea with traditional Italian flavors, creating a dining experience that is both authentic and soul-satisfying.
From the moment you step inside—or better yet, secure a coveted table by the sea—you’re enveloped in an atmosphere that marries rustic warmth with coastal elegance. The gentle sea breeze and the soothing sound of waves enhance the intimate vibe, making it an ideal setting for everything from romantic dinners to relaxed family gatherings.
Ristorante Gorgonia shines with its dedication to fresh, locally sourced seafood that captures the true essence of Procida’s maritime heritage. Guests consistently rave about the simple yet deeply flavorful dishes, where every bite tells a story of the Mediterranean’s bounty. Highlights include the exquisitely fresh oysters and the rich, delicate peppered mussels. For adventurous palates, the spaghetti with sea urchin is a must-try, offering a sublime balance of briny sweetness and creamy texture that lingers beautifully on the tongue.
Dessert is another revelation here—particularly the renowned lemon caprese cake. As one reviewer fondly recalls, it’s a “heavenly” treat crowned with freshly grated lemon zest that sparkles with zesty brightness against the cake’s moist, tender crumb. This dessert alone is enough to elevate the entire meal and leave a lasting impression.
Aside from the food, the restaurant’s convivial spirit shines through in the guests' stories of feeling “like being in someone’s home,” emphasizing that warmth and genuine hospitality are key ingredients of the Gorgonia experience. Whether enjoying a spritz by the sea or savoring a fresh lemon salad—another favorite discovery—this is a place where the extraordinary simplicity of Italian seafood cuisine meets genuine care and passion.
For those visiting Procida, Ristorante Gorgonia offers more than just a meal; it offers a memory—sunlit, aromatic, and deliciously authentic. Remember to book ahead, especially on weekends, and don’t hesitate to arrive early enough to enjoy both lunch and dinner. This gem by the sea promises a sensory voyage that’s both comforting and unforgettable.

Great food, feels like being in someone's's home. Simple but very flavoursome. We would have returned for lunch as well but we arrived too late.

Excellent experience! Based on the recommendations we have visited Gorgonia for a dinner and loved it so much we were back for lunchtime the next day :) make sure to not miss out on fresh fish and give caprese al limone a go if you have a sweet tooth!

Book a table by the sea, its wonderful You need tk try the lemon caprese cake, its the most delicious dessert I ever had in my life. They put freshly grated lemon zest on top and it is heavenly good We also tried an oyster (very delicious) and peppered mussels (good but nothing special) :) I saw on the menu that they have spaghtetti with sea urchin and I am a bit sorry that I did not try that, because its special. Overall a great dinner experience.

A romantic dinner with my husband, really good food (lemon salad was a real discovery) and the view is amazing. Don’t forget to book during the weekend especially. They also made my favorite spritz in the island.

Great little spot by the water. Reserve a table ahead of time if you want to be sure to sit outside. We got a plate of pasta each. A little pricey but you’re in the most popular town on ischia.

This is a very authentic family run fish restaurant. The starter was a sharing plate of fish, burschetta with octopus and lemon salad (this is a must try dish). All this is fresh from the sea and island. We had sea urchin pasta as our main. Wow this fish dish was light and was the finest taste of the sea. If you’re ever here please stop ant this restaurant and try their dishes. The chef even came out to sit and chat with us. Which made the experience for my mother. It’s authentic and flavourful food. Proper local and traditionally cooked food.

Beautiful restaurant in the marina, serving fresh seafood. The food was good, unfortunately the service was a bit slow and inattentive.
